Privacy policy
Infostatus Pty Ltd (ABN 35 164 325 875) runs this website. This page explains what information we collect when you use it, why, and what we do with it. We follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you contact us through a form on this site or by email: your name, email address, phone number, company and the message you send us.
- When you browse the site: standard analytics information such as the pages you visit, the browser and device you use, and a rough location based on your IP address. We collect this with cookies and similar tools. You can block cookies in your browser; the site still works without them.
- When you download a guide or sign up for something: the details you give us on that form.
We don’t collect sensitive information (such as health or financial details) through this site, and we don’t ask for it.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and talk to you about our services.
- To send you things you’ve asked for, such as a guide or an event invitation.
- To see how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything unrelated to the reasons above.
Who we share it with
- The platforms we run the business on: our Microsoft 365 tenant (email, documents) and our website host.
- Our analytics and marketing tools, which process browsing and contact data for us.
- Our professional advisers (accountants, lawyers, insurers) where we need to.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
Each of these providers is bound by contract to use your information only to provide its service to us.
Where it’s stored
Our Microsoft 365 tenant stores data in Australia. Some of our other providers store data in the United States or other countries. Where that happens we make sure the provider has appropriate security and privacy commitments in place.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and contact details for as long as we’re in touch with you, and for up to seven years after our last dealing where we need to for legal, tax or insurance reasons. Analytics data is kept in summarised form only. You can ask us to delete your details at any time (see below).
How we protect it
Our systems use multi-factor authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, and access limited to the people who need it. If we ever have a data breach that’s likely to cause serious harm, we’ll tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email connect@infostatus.com.au and we’ll respond within 30 days.
- You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in the email.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, email connect@infostatus.com.au and we’ll look into it and reply in writing. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
